Check out videos many made by UVic Geography students exploring different dimensions of environmental conflict and assessment in BC.
This interactive map includes information, links and videos exploring various land use controversies in the province.
In the spring (2013) semester students in Geog 301 (Environmental Impact Assessment) explored two controversial development case studies involving the New Prosperity Mine and the Jumbo Glacier Resort. In small groups they created videos critically considering specific elements of the environmental reviews of these proposed developments. The videos are meant to inform and inspire reflection on and care for the special places that we call home and how we collectively make decisions about the future of these places.
