The Redfish School of Change is an intensive six-week field school where 16 students travel from the mountains of the Slocan Valley to the marine coast of southern Vancouver Island visiting innovative sites and engaging with experts in the field of environmental and social justice.

While based at UVic the school was introduced to Community Mapping as a community engagement methodology. After the workshop the group gathered for a potluck dinner and sand casting down the hill at Gyro park (Cadboro Bay beach).

A sandbox site has been developed for the school.

The program is a partnership between GreenLearning Canada, Pearson College and the University of Victoria School of Environmental Studies, formed to make this unique program possible. Thanks to the generous support of Shell Canada.
